After 14 levels of play, Day 1 of Event #6: €5,000 Pot Limit Omaha has come to its conclusion here at the 2024 World Series of Poker Europe. The 141 entrant field created a prize pool of €629,565, where the winner will take home a top prize of €159,897.
Only 38 players survived until the end of play, with Bulgaria’s Krasimir Yankov leading the chip counts with a stack of 876,000. Yankov already found success earlier this afternoon, winning the €10,000 PLO High Roller for €106,971. With over $3,500,000 in live tournament earnings and multiple WSOP final tables, Yankov only has one thing missing, and that is a gold bracelet. He’ll surely have his sights set on claiming one by the end of tomorrow’s play.

Germany's Amir Mozaffarian holds the second spot in the chip counts with 861,000, while Italy's Arturo Paduano secured the final podium position with 815,000 after firing four bullets. Just a few days ago, Paduano made a deep run in Event #3: €1,350 Mini Main Event, where he bubbled the final table—the closest he has come thus far at reaching a WSOP final table. With a more than healthy stack, he’s given himself a great chance to change that during tomorrow’s play.
Some other notables who will be battling it out on the baize tomorrow include Dennis Weiss (754,000), Sebastian Mortensen (654,000), the defending champion Wing Po Liu (505,000), four-time bracelet winner Julien Martini (432,000), Maximilian Klostermeier (304,000), and Omar Eljach (127,000) as one of the shortest stacks in the field.
Many big names entered the field today, although many of them could not maneuver through to Day 2. Some bracelet holders who fell short included Shaun Deeb, Jan-Peter Jachtmann, Anson Tsang, Vivian Saliba, Stephen Nahm, Bernd Gleissner, and Martin Kabrhel.
Day 2 gets underway tomorrow, Monday, September 30, at1 p.m. local time,with blinds starting at 4,000/8,000 and an 8,000 big blind ante. The plan for Day 2 will be to play down until an eventual champion has been crowned and a gold bracelet has been awarded.

Krzysztof Magott had a raise of 21,000 in front of him from the cutoff before Dario Alioto reraised to 90,000 under the gun. Julien Martini then reraised to 300,000, Magott moved all in for 256,000, and Alioto stuck in his last 310,000.

"Not bad," Magott said as the J♦8♠5♥ flop gave him a pair and a straight draw. The 9♣ turn improved him to a straight, while the river was the J♠ to secure his triple up.
"You have to get lucky sometimes," he said as he collected the massive pot. Alioto took the side pot worth 120,000 off Martini.

Vazha Kometiani had built up a stack approaching 800,000 as he opened to 15,000 in the hijack.
"How's it going?" Lars Brodin called over from another table.
"Not too bad," Kometiani replied.
"My stack has potential," Brodin added about his much-smaller stack of around 60,000.
Gabi Livshitz then called on the button, as did Tomasz Gluszko in the big blind. Kometiani continued for 54,000 on the Q♣J♥2♥ flop and only Livshitz called.
The turn was the 10♠ and Kometiani moved all in. Livshitz snap-called for 128,000 and showed K♥J♣9♥7♥ for a straight, while Kometiani had K♦Q♦J♦10♥ for two pair and a straight draw.
The 5♠ fell on the river and Livshitz held on to earn the double up.
